I was born within a family of educators -- my uncle was a world-renowned Chinese linguist and my father was a famous Chinese historian and a professor of history at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. Growing up in such environment, although I gained a Bachelor of Business, I have a passion for Chinese and teaching. When I was young, my teachers would use me as an example in Chinese writing class and choose me to represent our class in numerous of Chinese speech and writing competitions.
I taught in an elementary school in Taiwan before immigrating to the US. I use my tutoring skills on my children and students, with one of them receiving a full score on the Chinese SAT II examination here. I have spent a lot of time and effort to gain a collection of rich Chinese resources for teaching – including materials from cultural stories, lessons and in the news. I have some good tips and strategies to help my students learn Chinese quickly and precisely.
Apart from my love and skill in teaching Chinese, I also have a combined five years of corporate experience in international business affairs at Technology Enterprises. In these roles, I was able to gain a lot of external business experience that make me qualified to teach students to advance at the enterprise level as well.
Lastly, I owned a technology business for two years and have promoted The Shen Yun Performing Arts and The Epochtimes (Chinese media) until now in Michigan. The experience greatly enhanced my organization and management skills which make me able to take on teaching and tutoring students in a timely manner with good results. From my experiences, I am able and willing to teach students of all levels from beginner to advanced and equip them with a language that is becoming a fore-front skill in the business and networking world.
