I have written EMT questions for the National Registry of EMTs (2/15-17/2002). I authored a chapter of the 2010 UMBC Critical Care Transport text for Jones & Bartlett, as well as working on other EMS projects for AAOS/Jones & Bartlett and Brady/Prentice Hall. As the former chair of the Education Committee of Michigan's EMS Coordination Committee, I helped the State navigate through the changes of the NHTSA National Scope of Practice, Education Standards and current Instructional Guidelines.
I am a Michigan licensed Paramedic (since '92) - EMS Instructor (since'98); a UMBC certified CCTP; and NREMT certified Paramedic with over 17 years of professional education experience in EMS. I am Training Center Faculty for American Heart Association Emergency Cardiovascular Care training courses in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS). I have instructed ECG Technician, 12-lead ECG, PEPP, and BTLS/ITLS/PHTLS trauma courses.
My methods vary to achieve the goal of each individual candidate's needs. They include one-on-one instruction, guided self-study, and directed exercises.
