Hi all! I'm a third-year PhD student in Michigan State's Genetics program. I also did my undergraduate work at MSU, so if you are an MSU student, odds are good that I've taken many of the same classes you will be taking. I graduated in four years with a degree in Physiology and a degree in Zoology (Genetics concentration). In the past, I've been a TA for both ZOL 341 (Fundamental Genetics) and MMG 302 (Microbiology Laboratory), and I really enjoyed teaching both of them. I always try to focus on explaining the science behind a question so that it is clear and understandable, rather than ask students to memorize things.
I'm done with all of the coursework for my PhD, with a GPA of 3.705. So I have a very thorough understanding of the fundamentals of biology. My specific areas of expertise are genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, biostatistics, and evolution.
