I would consider myself to be a well-qualified tutor because I have extensive experience in a variety of fields. I also have an extensive educational background, a variety of professional experience, and a myriad of skills I have acquired over the years.

I have worked as a tutor since I was in high school and college, and I also worked as a teaching assistant in college where I worked with freshmen to develop their research, writing, and analytic skills.

Even though I have a Law Degree, I decided to change careers to become a teacher and started working on a degree in elementary education. As a result I have developed skills in teaching language arts, primary math as well as the other primary-level classes. I believe that children and older students have multiple ways of learning, and I studied different methods of working with different age groups and educational levels. I have taught students at all levels, from K-12, and I am able to tutor in a variety of subjects. I have taught primary school students and helped them develop their language, reading and math skills. At the middle school and high school levels I helped students develop their writing skills, and taught them how to analyze literature, historical events, as well as analyzing current events. I even taught Spanish for a year at a high school and I am able to assist beginning Spanish students with basic grammar and conversation.

I would be a great tutor because of my experience, but I also feel that I am able to develop a good rapport with children, especially children from diverse backgrounds. I also happen to be the father of a 22 year young woman who just graduated from Harvard, and I would like to think that I provided guidance and assistance while she was growing up. I strongly believe that every child has the potential to learn and achieve, and it would be my job as a tutor to help develop that potential.
