I am an Occupational therapist by profession. This has helped me to develop very creative techniques to teach a variety of people of various age groups many new skills in the past. My strengths are my resourcefulness and my creativity. I have worked with children with severe disabilities as well as with the elderly and all the other ages in between. For the past 5 years I have worked at a freestanding outpatient clinic, specializing in hand therapy. Currently I work at the Lapeer District Library as a Substitute Library Assistant.
For the past 4 years I have taught 3- and 4-year-olds at our church's children's program on Wednesday nights, as well as 4-6-year-olds at the MOPS program every other Friday morning. In the past year, I also taught a group of 12 homeschooled students (aged 8-12), a course called "Exposure to the German Culture". I am currently tutoring one 15-year-old homeschooled student German. It gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to see anybody I come into contact with grow and learn. I love using hands-on learning and teaching methods, as I feel that this makes the learning experience for the children come alive.
I grew up in a German-speaking home and was born in South Africa. I enjoy new challenges and love traveling.
