I am a graduate of Lawrence Technological University with a degree in Architecture. I love math!
I am super eager to help youngsters get a great start in school, as well as older students succeed on college prep. I worked in a daycare up until college and have been around lots of different types of adolescents. I know each child learns at a very different pace. I am patient and willing to take the time to ensure your child gets the attention he or she deserves. I also know that most children are capable of more than they think they are! Helping a child find out where they are brightest would be a joy to me.
In college I did a ton of group work. While doing so I learned about how different people study and learn. I can approach your middle school student or high school student the same way. Finding out what drives them to be succsessful and targeting that part of them. Every job interview I have been on has asked me about critical thinking. I specialize in tutoring math because I love critical thinking. I feel it is a great tool to have to get ahead in life. Although your student may dislike math, we can apply lots of critical thinking to help make math easier. And hey, maybe your student will eventually learn to love math!
