The General Record Examinations (GRE) is a standardized test that is an admissions requirement for many graduate schools in the United States, in other English-speaking countries and for English-taught graduate and business programs world-wide. Created and administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS), the exam aims to measure verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, analytical writing and critical thinking skills that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are not related to any specific field of study. The GRE is offered as a computer-based exam administered by selected qualified testing centers.
The GRE was completely overhauled in August 2011, creating an exam that is not adaptive on a question-by-question basis, but rather by section, so that the performances on the first verbal and math sections determine the difficulty of the second sections shown.
Overall, the test retained the sections and question types from its predecessor, but the scores were changed to a 130-170 scale.
ETS erases all test records that are older than five years, although graduate program admission policies of scores older than five years will vary.

I immediately introduce rigorous vocabulary enhancement and critical reading strategies--the employment of which always proves a profitable endeavor for my students.
The Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) is a half-day standardized test administered four times each year at designated testing centers throughout the world. Administered by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) for perspective law school candidates, the LSAT is designed to assess reading comprehension, logical, and verbal reasoning proficiencies. An applicant cannot take the LSAT more than three times within a two-year period.
The current form of the exam has been used since 1991. It has six sections: four scored multiple choice sections, an unsecured experimental section, and an unsecured writing section. Raw scores are converted to a scaled score with a high of 180, a low of 120, and a median score of around 150. When an applicant applies to a law school, all scores from e past five years are reported. As of June 2012, it costs $160 (USD) to take the LSAT in the United States.
Philosophy is the study of general and fundamental problems, such as those connected with reality, existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language. Philosophy is distinguished from other ways of addressing such problems by its critical and generally systematic approach, and its reliance on rational argument. The word "philosophy" comes from the Greek and literally means "lover of wisdom." The main areas if inquiry in philosophy today include metaphysics, epistemology, logic, ethics, and aesthetics. Metaphysics is the study of the most general features of reality, such as existence, time, the relationship between mind and body, objects and their properties, etc. Epistemology treats of the nature and scope of knowledge, such as the relationships between truth, belief, and theories of justification. Logic is the study of the principles of correct reasoning. Ethics or "moral philosophy" is concerned primarily with the question: "what is the best way to live?" and secondarily with the question of whether this can be answered. Aesthetics deals with beauty, art, enjoyment, sensory-emotional values, perception, and matters of taste and sentiment.
