As your tutor, you will learn the Basics and Advanced Techniques of QuickBooks as they apply to your particular business or nonprofit. In addition, you will learn how to correctly adapt QuickBooks to use in a nonprofit environment!

I not only have experience in teaching in a classroom setting at Grand Valley State University, I also subscribe to the philosophy that most students learn best when they can relate their educational experience to one-on-one "hands on" experience with a business or other organization that they are already familiar with!

Regarding my experience, I have been providing customized accounting and tax-related services to individuals, small business organizations, and nonprofits for twenty-five years. I continue to do so because I truly enjoy this work and seeing my clients eventually become experts in accounting and QuickBooks in their own right if that is what they desire.

Additionally, I can also offer new nonprofit organizations advice and assistance in organizing their nonprofit, getting the IRS 501(c)3 tax exemption, and properly designing a nonprofit organization's accounting system.

1) Having passed the Intuit On-line Quickbooks Certification course, I am certified by Intuit as a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

2) Have used QuickBooks since 2004 and am experienced in all versions thru 2012

3) I have experience in the correct useage of QuickBooks in a multitude of for-profit businesses and also have considerable experience in the correct adaptation of QuickBooks for use in a nonprofit environment

Tax Preparation

I am an independent tax preparer who has owned and run a successful tax preparation business for 25 years. To keep current on all the changes each year, I attend annual update training seminars. I will take and pass the new IRS Competency Exam in the summer of 2012 or alternatively pass the IRS Enrolled Agent exam.
