Hello! My name is Jes and I'm currently enrolled as in the Sociology major at the University of Southern Maine. I have more than three years of experience working with children aged three to eight with special needs. I believe strongly in teaching to each child's personal learning style.
During college I have tutored a child with autism in all of her coursework. I can provide a calm, positive, enthusiastic tutoring experience for children both typically developing and with special needs.
I live for the "light bulb" moment and am willing to work hard to give your student a true understanding of the material. I love creative activities and try to provide out-of-the-box learning experiences.
In my free time, I captain a women's Ultimate frisbee team in Portland, coach a high school team (that just finished third at Nationals), read, garden, play guitar, and teach my cats to do tricks.
