I am a math tutor and also a math major at St. Joseph's College. In my senior year of high school, I led my math team to the state championship meet. When I first became a math tutor, I was shocked how few people truly understood basic mathematical concepts. After I was done, the class all passed my last test with 90's and the average score was 97.
My approach is that I treat all my students like human beings. I feel that the best teaching style is to make the subject exciting and easy to understand. I also think that what the student says is just as important as what I am teaching. I am not a teacher that will deny all questions and tells the students to "sit down and be quiet." I will answer any and all questions that are given.
I also notice that the economy isn't exactly going the way we would like it to. When I was looking at prices, I noticed on average, tutors are charging $40 an hour. Which is why I am only charging $15-20 an hour, because I highly believe that education is an American right and because it is the best quality at the lowest price.
