I enjoy all disciplines of math and I believe that anyone can understand and excel in both subjects. My education includes a B.S. in Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (2005) and I am currently enrolled as a Graduate Student and Teaching Assistant (TA) in Forestry at the University of Maine.
I have been formally tutoring for more than 10 years. During my undergraduate education, I held tutoring positions with the college for college level math and physics, with local middle and high school students, and with the town's parole office for high school students on parole. As a TA for the University of Maine, my duties are very similar to a tutor. I hold office hours where the students could come for homework help and with questions of things they didn't understand from the lectures. In my experience, patience and the ability to break difficult concepts down into their simplest parts are the most important skills in helping students not only learn but really understand a subject.
I am available to tutor students at all levels, from elementary school through college.
