We feel very fortunate to have found the perfect tutor for our 14 year old who is struggling with Algebra I. John is very professional and serious about his business while at the same time friendly, personable and patient. From the start, John quickly recognized deficiencies and areas lacking fundamental understanding of the subject matter. Prepared, effective and efficient, each session has been incredibly productive and has produced successful results in the classroom. Each session concludes with verbal recap, not just with the student, but also with us so we know exactly what has been accomplished. Each session is further followed up with a thoughtful and thoroughly detailed summary via email which includes an overview of the material covered and his observations of our son's work and work habits. This summary also provides a forecast of our son's lessons in school, what he should focus on with practice problems to re-enforce the tutoring session and goals for the following week.
John is easy to contact and communicate with. He is clear and concise when setting the schedule and providing his commendations for how much time is needed to bring his student up to speed.
We highly recommend John!

I really liked working with John A. He was very personable while being professional. I learned a lot because he was able to communicate well and was genuinely interested. I have a better understanding and am more confident. Thanks so much.

John has worked with my daughter since last fall and has helped her succeed in her challenging Adv. Chem. course. He has charted her success with his indepth preparation, comprehensive and easy to understand review of all the materials, while focusing on my daughter's learning style and abilities. Her confidence has soared and so have her grades!
"An effective and organized tutor who is very much concerned with, and focused on, an individual's academic success."

John A. is a tutor who, as mentioned in the review title, truly desires to help one succeed in their potential trouble subject. John arrives to tutoring sessions well prepared, as he spends time preparing for a tutoring session by reviewing the specific study material on his own before sessions. He uses textbooks of his own and internet resources to further reinforce the subject matter being taught.
If there happens, for example, to be a homework, or an in-class, problem that he may not entirely understand himself (a seldom occurrence), then he will acknowledge so. Afterward, he will then spend some time either working out the problem on his own, or researching it (depending on the nature of the problem), and will get back in touch with you with an answer.
John is very good about keeping appointments/meeting times, if he cannot make a scheduled appointment, then he is either sick or injured (literally); he WILL NOT "flake" on you. This I know, I have had him tutor me on different subjects for over a year; tutoring I consider to be well worth while. Further, he makes himself available by both phone and internet, not to just set-up another meeting, but to give some last minute help with some trouble problems, concepts, etc.
John is a dedicated, sincere tutor, and if you are truly in need of tutoring, in the areas in which he provides tutoring, then you will not be let down nor misled with him as a tutor.
