Hello! I am an ASHA Certified speech/language pathologist and am dually licensed to practice in both Virginia and Maryland to work with children and adults within the educational and medical arenas. I also possess a Virginia Teacher's License for ages preschool-12th grade. I have been working within my profession for 17 years within the educational system, pediatric outpatient, hospitals, long-term care, skilled and acute rehab, and home health. I am positive, enthusiastic, and have a passion for young people. I typically establish rapport easily and quickly with the students I serve and am diligent in seeing them become successful, gain confidence, and increase solid verbal and written language skills. I have taught in South America and in China and was offered an opportunity on two occasions to work with Operation Smile alongside a team of dentists, cosmetic surgeons, neurologists, educators, speech/language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and nurses. I have offered my services to tutor students whom I served after school while remediating the language deficit(s) that actually created the difficulty accessing the academic curriculum. I also participated in remediation and test preparation for elementary and middle school students to facilitate greater success on state standardized assessments.
