Work Experience: I have more than 11 years of experience in Database. I started my career as Unix Operator in SIAC, NY, in 1997. I also worked in City Group's software development for few years. I had an opportunity to work on Custom Reports in 2000 using Oracle in DoubleClick Inc, NY. I took the SQL/PL-SQL exam for Oracle 8i during this time and got promoted to the Database Architect team. At DoubleClick, Inc, I worked in both OLTP (Transitional) and Data Warehouses. I performed database design, SQL tuning, PL-SQL development and database administration activities in DoubeClick-Google. I actively took part in many database migrations, as well as the Production Support team for all database activities.
In 2008, I was admitted to Oracle Boot-Camp for Oracle 10g OCP track exams. I was able to pass both the exams (Administration I and II) within 2 weeks of preparation. Currently I am working in Marriott Headquarters as a Database Designer and ETL Developer for both Oracle and Netezza databases. Presently my day to day activities involve Production Support, Database Design, ETL development and Unix/Linux Shell programming.
Teaching Experience: My teaching experience started when I was in Engineering University. During that time I tutored many students. I also utilized my professional experience for tutoring Software Development, Unix Shell Programming and Oracle SQL/PL-SQL. When it comes to teaching I am very natural. I prefer teaching in a manner where students can enhance their analytic and problem solving skills.
Interviews: I have extensive experience in interviewing candidates. I have been on the interview board throughout my long career. Currently I am the only one in my group who is allowed to interview all new candidates for database positions in my present company.
