As a technology professional currently working in the DC metropolitan area, I have had the privilege of working with a variety of individuals. The two character traits common among everyone that has made my career such a pleasure so far has been an insatiable curiosity and a willingness to learn. My desire is to do everything I can to assist those who wish to learn and to provide advice that will last them well into their future careers.
I received my Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an engineering school renowned for its thorough curriculum and challenging subject matter. Within my chosen field, I was exposed to topics as far ranging calculus and linear algebra to programming languages and computer networking. If the topic involves technology and mathematics, I will likely have worked with it directly.
I seek to provide an enriching learning environment that is focused on not just thorough understanding of the topics at hand, but the ability to provide the critical thinking necessary to use those new skills on real world problems. The focus isn't just on what is being taught but also why is it being taught. I heavily encourage questions to be asked and conversations to be had to promote thought and learning.
I am extremely flexible with my time and location. While I live in Southern Maryland, I work in Northern Virginia and neither location is out of the way. As long as scheduling is performed ahead of time, most hours of the day will suffice for lessons.
If you have any questions, please let me know and I look forward to hearing from you!
