I am Richie J.M. and I know just how to help you! I have several years of experience is Stage/Film Acting, Music Writing, Recording, Mixing & Mastering, Play Writing and Directing, Graphic Design and English. During the 2011-2012 school year I was a mentor for a struggling group of freshman at my high school. I used one class period out of my schedule to tutor them in English (including essay writing, vocabulary, test preparation, understanding Shakespeare, and much more.)

I have also written mini musicals, short stories, songs, and poems; as well as directed and starred in community, collegiate, and high school theatre (most recent roles being Otto Lammermeire in Spring Awakening and Romeo Montague in a modernized Romeo & Juliet). I play the drums, have learned piano by ear, and have a baritone singing range. If your child needs help in any of these areas, I promise, I can help!

Grammar

Your child will learn basic grammar skills, as well as some advanced techniques to allow them to be ahead of their grade.

Reading

Your child will learn tricks on how to read faster, how to skim for textual clues and themes of passages and stories, and how to retain the information from a reading.

Writing

How to structure sentences, proper essay writing skills, paragraph basics, and outline structure are things you will learn in these sessions.

Adobe Photoshop

Your child will learn basic Photoshop skills such as clone stamping, photo layering, lassoing, etc.

Spelling

Your child will learn basic spelling and vocabulary words that his classmates know, as well as how to spell and define advanced words up to 1-2 grades ahead of their class.

How do I receive a discount?

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
