My name is Persey, a graduate with Physiology and Neurobiology degrees at the University of Maryland-College Park. I acquired many experiences tutoring throughout my college years. As a chemistry and physics tutor, I provided students with the most efficient and simple ways of doing calculations by providing them with various tricks. I am very flexible and can adjust to cater for the student needs. Additionally, I provided students with how to properly manage their time during chemistry and physics exams. I also gained experience as a tutor and teaching assistant of biology during my years at University of Maryland. As a teaching assistant, I was able to improve many students' appreciation of science throughout the course. Most of the students I taught had no passion for science and took the course as a prerequisite for their various majors; as a result, I mostly use analogies to enable them to better comprehend the material. My work as a research Lab Assistant/Technician in developmental evolution lab also enabled me to have some hands-on experience in the field. Math has simply been my passion going back to my high school years. I was the only high school graduate in my class to take both Calculus AB and BC. I also took Calculus, Statistics, Algebra, etc during my years in college and did relatively well in them. I can use my experiences to help students in need of ACT science/math prep as well. Additionally, I am currently teaching 6th, 7th and 8th graders in science and math as an intern/mentor at Capitol Hill, Congress Heights and Trinidad center city public school.
