Teaching is "in my blood." I have been involved in teaching of one form or another for most all of my professional life. I taught US History in Salisbury MD for seven years. Although the primary subject matter was US History, I used the subject to teach remedial reading skills.
As a pastor, teaching was an integral part of my ministry, including Confirmation classes, both youth and adult, spiritual formation, mentoring seminarians and adult Christian eduction forums. I used these skills in congregations in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
While at the congregation in Pennsylvania, I taught part-time at a local high school where I taught Civics, Constitution and Law, Consumer Economics and Christian Ethics. I also taught Introduction to the New Testament during one summer session at Penn State, DuBois campus.
I recently retired but still want to stay involved in teaching. It is genuinely gratifying to participate in the development of young minds for future success.
