Currently, I tutor students in mostly developmental math at Wor-Wic Community College. I am an alumnus of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and have maintained a GPA above 3.6 during my time at Wor-Wic. I hold associate degrees in business and general studies as well as a proficiency in accounting. Among the coursework were classes in statistics, algebra, trigonometry and calculus. I have also taken courses in finance, income tax, marketing and economics.
For five years, I performed at the OC Jamboree in West Ocean City, as a keyboardist and vocalist, as well as a co-producer. I traveled with the troupe into New York, New Jersey and Virginia as a part of the White Star Touring company. In recent years, I have performed for the Ocean Pines Children's Theater and on several worship teams. At Oak Ridge Baptist Church, I performed the duties of Musical Director for a year and a half.
I interned for the VITA program at Shore Up! during the 2009 tax season, as a preparer and post-preparation analyst. It was a great feeling to help so many people who were in need. I also kept accounting records for the Gathering Tree, a church formerly in Pittsville.
One goal I have is to open my own business, hopefully in the music field. I enjoy performing.
My methods for tutoring usually depend on the student. It helps to be visual and to relate the material to everyday life whenever possible. Having recent in-class notes, tests/quizzes and handouts also assist in finding out where a student stands in their subject.
