I have a Ph.D. degree in immunology and two master degrees in medical microbiology and regulatory science respectively. My experience in teaching includes 4 years of teaching chemistry in high school and 4 years of teaching microbiology, genetics, biology, and environmental science as an adjunct instructor in community college and undergraduate university. I have done extensive tutoring of students within the teaching experiences described above.
Helping students to master science subject areas is personally satisfying to me as I take great pride in the accomplishment of my students. Since different students have different ways of learning, I believe in spending time listening to what the student believes his or her academic needs and learning issues are and trying to accommodate the student's ;earning style. Motivation is also something I try to instill in my students as well.
Tutoring methods could include different references, sets of notes, exercises, or other assignments as necessary. Different forms of test taking might also be included if that is something the student could use to his or her benefit.
