Trisha G. is a printmaker, painter, bookmaker, and an art occupational therapist. She received her BFA from Washington University in St. Louis. She has taught and run many programs as the education outreach coordinator to a local non-profit art space- Pyramid Atlantic. She is certified by three nonprofits as a teacher and has taught all over the county through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. She has run more than eight programs with various age groups from five to 68. She loves all age groups and has designed teaching materials for all age groups. Her interest in stories and the narratives of her grandparents and parents is rooted in her upbringing and her close relationship to her mother whom immigrated from India. In her work, she explores her Indian heritage, and the process of healing through communication and illustration. Trained as a painter her mixed monotype illustrations are, surreal landscapes made through a process of vinyl and stenciling that she developed using roofing boards. She depicts Indian landmarks and uses her family’s history and interaction with these monuments for source work.
As an art educator she has participated in many art education residencies and worked on developing many educational art programs. Through Pyramid Atlantic she was a teaching artist for the National Endowment for the Arts, and she is a certified teaching artist for the Kennedy Center Arts integration residency program. She has collaboratively written curriculum for business and art programs including ARTpreneurs by Arts on the Block and for other workshops, through the well known print house Pyramid Atlantic.
She exhibited at the Washington Printmakers Gallery, the Corcoran art vendor show, Pyramid Atlantic Book Arts Show, and she has shown her work internationally in Taiwan, China and Dublin. Her first solo show was in Washington DC with ArtWorks Fine art studio. She is currently collaborating on a Taiwanese documentary. She is working on a show of Indian landmarks and is applying to the Jahangir Art Gallery in Mumbia India. She has won numerous awards for her work and has won a scholastic silver key at the Corcoran Gallery of art. Her work is in private collections including the Center for the Book Arts at the Washington University in St. Louis Library.
I am a part time Illustrator. I am working with two published authors on my first children's book. I have worked in Illustrator for a few years and in the industry for about as long. I hope to teach you.
As a part time Illustrator- I use Photoshop often. I have a BFA in drawing and printmaking but I have taken college level courses locally in Digital art creation. I am familiar with most aspects of Photoshop and can teach fundamentals.
I teach color theory, composition, and a variety of art theory subjects to my adult painting students. I run an art program at a private art school and teach 20 plus adults. I have taken advanced color theory at the college level as part of my BFA. I have also worked on elements of composition and am a big fan of learning from other artists. One of the activities that I enjoy doing with my students is to have them map the composition of masterworks to understand value and other fundamentals of art like compliments and contrast.
I teach painting, drawing and I used to manage an adult art program at Bethesda art works. I focus on teaching perspective and life drawing. I have been teaching drawing for 5 years. I have a BFA in printmaking and drawing and I have studied drawing since I was a child. I have been trained as a art instructor by a local nonprofits as an instructor. I manage three sections of an adult painting program. I am certified in watercolor, acrylic, and oils. I have worked as a teacher for a program for the national endowment for the arts that employed mural painting.
I am training to be an Art therapist and am working at an inpatient child treatment center. I have taken mental health rotations at Columbia University when I was enrolled as an Occupational therapist. I'm familiar wih many modules and treatment methodologies including DBT, talk therapy and art therapy.
