Recent graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Studio Art. My focus was drawing and printmaking but I excelled in painting as well. I took many developmental and upper level drawing courses. I also took woodcut, intaglio, screen-printing, and painting courses. I was a part of honors intaglio my senior year. I studied the history's of Mesoamerican, Japanese, and Renaissance art. I was originally an architecture major so I also studied what makes a structure and the artistic styles/aesthetics covering the areas of ancient Mesoamerica, Greece, Rome, Egypt, Constantinople, Mesopotamia and Japan.
What I can help with:
ART - I can help a student understand perspective, color, when/what materials to use, techniques in how to tools and/or to achieve certain textures or moods in a piece, as well as develop a specific style and artistic identity. I can help students plan a piece and stay organized while still being creative. I also know how to properly deal with hazardous cleanup involved in printmaking and painting. I am also proficient in Photoshop.
ART HISTORY - I have a broad range of knowledge involving the history of the arts. I can help with studying and memorization techniques to students who struggle in this department. I also can help with writing papers (including grant proposals/show openings/show reviews/compare and contrasting art/etc.).
