My name is Eduarda, but I generally go by Eddie or Duda. I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro and Pernambuco, Brazil. I still go to Brazil nearly every year to visit family. At my house, only Portuguese is spoken. My language proficiency has gotten me very far in college and in other jobs. I enjoy teaching others because it makes me genuinely happy seeing people grow in their language skills. Not only that, but Portuguese is a gorgeous and often forgotten language as people typically assume it is the same as Spanish. Portuguese is worth learning and I have the skills as a tutor to help you get to the level that you want to be at. I have 2+ years experience tutoring in classrooms and 2 more years experience with school-age children. I have volunteered as a teacher's aid in two schools in Montgomery County public school system and I have taught seminars at the University of Maryland. I have patience and I take pride in teaching my language to as many people as I can. I believe Brazil is an amazing place that is growing quickly and many incredible jobs are being offered there for Americans who can speak Portuguese. I am thrilled to be become a tutor.
