I first started learning Japanese during my freshman year of high school. I had been interested in Japanese culture since middle school but never had any real opportunities to learn the language until 9th grade. The following summer I applied for an exchange program with our schools sister school in Japan and got accepted to go to Japan for three weeks in order to experience the culture first hand. Being completely immersed in the language helped my Japanese skills improve much more quickly. I returned to Japan once again on an exchange program during the summer following my junior year as well.
Now a junior in college, I have been learning Japanese for about seven years and am now a Teaching Assistant for Japanese 101 and 102. I have love and respect for the culture and language and thoroughly enjoy teaching it to anyone who is willing to learn.
I've been learning Japanese for over 7 years. I've been to Japan Twice on an exchange program in high school.
I recently completed Japanese 301 at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. I was a Teaching Assistant for the Fall 2013 semester for Japanese levels 101 and 102.
