I love and enjoy teaching.
While working toward my Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and my Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, I was employed as teaching assistant by the department of mathematics and Electrical Engineering. In addition, I also had a great deal of teaching and tutoring work experiences as a teacher at the STLC (Southeast Tennis and Learning Center)and the Ideal Academic Public Charter School(IAPC).
As a teacher assistant, I work with freshman, sophomore, junior and senior students. I was responsible to use innovative techniques to re-enforce their understanding in subjects such as Algebra, Calculus I, II, III, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Circuit, Electronics, and Computer programming. I had to manage the difference of capabilities among my students by using different teaching styles and technique approaches. I adapted activities to maintain the interest of high-level students without intimidating less skilled students. In addition to my teaching and tutoring goal, I also serve as a mentor for many undergraduate students. As a mentor, I advised them in choosing their majors based on their potentials and aspirations.
As a teacher at STLC and IAPC, I was responsible to use innovative techniques and curriculums to instruct a small size class in math and reading. My main tasks were to instruct math and study skills to High school Students in preparation for the DC Cast Exam, report students’ progress to the supervisor, introduce the concept of Science and Technology to Middle school students and to teach computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
