This was my first experience with a private tutor. She was more than I could ask for. She was patient and very knowledgeable. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her. I would highly recommend her and would definitely request her services again should my daughter need tutoring services again.
In the nicest way possible, I think I felt worse after my tutoring session. This tutor was no help at all. When asked questions, she would answer a totally off topic question that I already knew the answer to. Clearly had no background in anatomy, and that was falsely advertised. That one hour session was a waste of time. The only advice the tutor could give to my "anxious" self, was to listen to the voice of my professor. And study every day. Which I clearly said about 10 times that I had been doing.
Hannah, I am not a nurse, and though this is not related to your anatomy class or exam, I have helped nurses prepare for examinations to enter nursing school and for licensing examinations. I wrote a family genogram for a nurse, and I’ve written detailed answers to essay questions, hopefully for nursing instructors. My efforts as a tutor are not to tell you the answers, but to help you master anatomy yourself. You chose Starbucks, as a place to study, and your mother waited in the car. Your mother returned politely in an hour and asked if I wanted anything to drink. She told me to take an hour off her card, which is an economical way to use a tutoring service. Hannah explained that she tried listening to her instructor two different ways. She first, tried to note everything she said, but she couldn’t do it and did not understand what the instructor was saying. She found that she understands the instructor better when she only takes a few notes. She did all the online exercises the teacher provided. We reviewed definitions, level of organization, types and function of tissue, cells and layers of tissue. We discussed the organization of the information, ions, molecules and compounds v. cells, tissues, organs and system of the body. I showed Hannah how to find answers to her questions online, and I thought focusing on the instructor’s voice might help her remember her words during a test.
