After undergraduate majors in Economics and Psychology, graduate studies in Law and Languages and an all important Master of Arts in Teaching English Language Arts and Social Sciences (Economics, Psychology, Law, History, and Political Science), post-graduate work in Electronic Engineering Technology grounded me further in Math and the Physical Sciences.
Along with teaching, coaching, and tutoring at the middle school through graduate school level for more than 20 years, I have also served as a Counselor, Financial Analyst, Business Consultant, and Immigration, Contracts and Medical Malpractice Attorney. Several years as a Medical and Personal Injury Attorney and Investigator reinforced my education in Biology and Physiology.
After all of that, my first love remains teaching/tutoring and coaching. Over the years, I have acquired many methods to elevate student performance in math, reading speed and comprehension, and writing. It is emphasized that optimum performance on standardized exams requires understanding of exam taking techniques as well as knowledge of subject matter.
My profile details the subjects I am certified in. In English, Language Arts, Forensic Science and the Social Sciences (Economics, Psychology, History, Law, etc.) my students range from PhD candidates to 6th grade. In mathematics, ASVAB, PRAXIS, and TEAS students comprise the majority. In Biology, Physical Science, and Earth Science, most of my students range from middle school through and including the senior high level.
I am enjoying being part of the turn-around in education that has begun in America, without which we will not remain a competitive people in the world. Imparting confidence and improving focus are the mainstays of my methods. With younger students, physical education and music may be employed as learning aids.
