My name is Ola, I am a nutrition and public health professional with a strong passion for teaching. I love working with young populations as demonstrated by my career path in child health and nutrition. I have also worked with adult clients in private homes and communities through a mix of research and intervention projects. I currently reside in Central Maryland. I have great multicultural experiences gained from living in three different continents of the world. My passion for teaching is borne out of a desire to help others master concepts as they prepare for future careers. This passion is easily and quickly noticeable by clients I have served for many years. In particular my multicultural background allows me the opportunity to draw up real life examples to communicate with students from various backgrounds, different comprehension levels, and of different age grades (including elderly clients).

Currently, I provide tutoring and mentoring to elementary, middle, and high school students who attend after-school programs in a youth center located in Inner Baltimore city. Some of the subjects I teach at the youth center include: Math, Reading, Spelling, Writing, Geography, and culture of other lands. I have also been a Children Sunday school teacher in church for more than six years. This demonstrates my rich experience in many subjects (including Bible studies). I also enjoy proofreading; and for several years I have helped friends and colleagues edit both for the grammar and technical contents of essays, projects, proposals, and other documents.

I work hard to identify best ways of teaching and supervision for each client, thus making learning client-specific. I also share exam-specific preparation strategies with students. I have excellent inter-personal and communication skills. I am very patient and am a good listener. Please feel free to ask me questions about my teaching styles, background qualifications and experiences, or to take a look at my resume. Thank you.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I am of the christian faith. I have received teachings over many years of the principles and instructions of the Christian faith as contained in the Bible. I have also been teaching in the Children Sunday School Ministry at church weekly for more than 6 years. I am conversant with the Bible and the Bible characters in both the Old and New Testaments, and I study the Bible daily with notes taken.

Biostatistics

I have always loved and excelled in Bio-statistics since college days. During Graduate School at Johns Hopkins I took many bio-statistics courses. I enjoy teaching and have great experience in relating to clients at different mastery levels and comprehension rates.

I have played chess since I was an adolescent. I have mastered the concepts of the game. I can also record the entire game moves for both players in writing form, a skill many of its' players cannot perform.

Nutrition

I have both bachelor's and master's degrees in Human Nutrition. I have also worked in different capacities in branches of International Nutrition, Community Nutrition, and Public Health Nutrition. I have provided instruction at various informal capacities to friends who take nutrition classes as part of their course program.

Soccer

I have played soccer since I was a child, and I am very skilful in it. I know the rules and principles guiding the game. I follow up with developments in the game. I also regularly watch the highest levels of the game at both club and country cadres, and am very good in game analysis.

I have high-level experience with the use of SPSS and some other statistical software, as well as advanced knowledge of Statistics and Research Methodology for quantitative, qualitative and mixed study designs.

Statistics

I have developed competency in Statistics through school and research work experiences garnered over many years.
