Hello, potential students and parents!

My name is Michelle. I'm from Olney, Maryland. I graduated from Towson University Magna Cum-Laude in May 2011 with a BS in Art + Design and a concentration in Photography. I know some of you are thinking "well, graduating Magna Cum-Laude couldn't have been too hard with a degree in art," but keep in mind that I graduated from Towson University's Honors College, which makes you take numerous major-irrelevant courses (ex. "Honors Intro to Lego Robotics" or "Honors Seminar in Jane Austen").

I've had a passion for English and Art throughout high school and college, and have experience tutoring 5th grade math as well as Mac products and InDesign basics. What's more, I have worked as a camp counselor for ages 4 through 13 for five years. I am patient, understanding, and able to think outside of the box. My tutoring methods are based on the subject matter, as well as the student.

I have 9 years of experience using PC products and have been using Mac products since 2007. Whether it's trouble-shooting a software issue, helping you learn about your ipod, ipad, or iMac, or teaching you a new program, I am ready for the task. I am very patient and have a lot of experience with tutoring the baby boomer generation.

Drawing

With a degree in Art and Design from Towson University, I have been taught precision in perspective and the human form. Prior to entering college, I took Studio Art for four years in high school.

Having been a camp counselor at an art camp for five summers, I have experience teaching ages 4 - 13 how to draw.

Photography

Graduating from Towson University in May 2011, I have a degree in Art and Design with a concentration in Photography. I have experience with analog and digital cameras. Most of my experience is with a Pentax K1000 and a Nikon D90 DSLR.

I worked with the analog camera since 2003 and have, like the rest of the world, "gone digital."

ADD/ADHD

I was diagnosed with ADHD in 5th grade, and promptly put on medication. I understand the difficulties, as well as the solutions because I've lived a good 22 years with ADHD.

Adobe InDesign

I have previous experience teaching InDesign to entrepreneurs and college students. If you need help with magazine layout, image placement, font size for print, CMYK and RGB conversions, or converting to a PDF for printing, I can help.

Macintosh

I have been using a MacBook Pro since 2007, and have used the laptop for InDesign, Photoshop, web browsing, Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, receiving images, checking email, and the like.

If you have questions about "modding" your Macintosh computer, I cannot help you (since that involves the mechanics of a computer).
