Carrie P has done an excellent job as a tutor for both my high-school age daughters. My older daughter worked with Carrie on a regular basis to go over math/science topics on the SAT and ACT. My younger daughter worked with Carrie to improve her understanding of chemistry.
We were very pleased with the work Carrie did. She has a professional yet approachable attitude that gave my daughters an extra boost to tackle some of the hard science issues they were struggling with. She also was flexible in finding time with my younger daughter just before quizzes to go over the test material and prepare her. Her grades improved dramatically after engaging with Carrie.
Overall, the experience with Carrie was an excellent one and I would recommend her highly, particularly for math and science topics.

I am 57 years old and have decided to go back to school and get a bachelor’s degree. I work full time so I am attending an online college. Finite (discrete) math was one of my required math classes and after about two weeks into the class I knew I was in trouble. Most of the problems were word problems which I have always had trouble with and a lot of the other math just went over my head. I was kind of apprehensive to hire a tutor but I needed help if I was to pass this course.
I looked on the internet and found WYZANT.COM. There were several math tutors to choose from but Carrie seemed to have the most experience and listed my exact subject in the ones she taught. We met at a place that was mutually agreeable to both of us that had Wi-Fi so I could get to my class material online. I was beginning to second guess my decision because I had already paid out about a thousand dollars for the class, books and other materials and hiring a tutor is not a trivial expense. All of my fears went away however when Carrie arrived. Carrie was very professional, self-confident, and friendly. We got to work right away.
There was no socializing or small talk, we were there to get me to understand my subject and pass my class. After a brief introduction and discussion of what I expected from our sessions and her expectations of me it was all business. There was no wasted time and we set up a new appointment at the end of each session. Carrie was very knowledgeable on the subject, showed me some shortcuts and how to use my ti-84 calculator more efficiently. Carrie challenged me and helped me learn. Not only did I pass the class I got an “A”. I would definitely recommend Carrie as a tutor and I do not regret the decision to hire her at all. In fact it is one of the better decisions I have made concerning my education. Thank you again Carrie.

My Son needed help with calculus AB and Carrie did an outstanding job tutoring my Son. She helped him organize his work and provided a no nonsense atmosphere where he could concentrate on his math.
The final result was my Son had a score of 5 on his calculus AB, AP exam, the highest score he could get!! I defiantly would recommend Carrie if your child needs help in math, especially advanced High School math.

Carrie is an excellent Chemistry tutor. My son is in High School Chemistry and was struggling with the subject. Carrie was able to explain what he was learning in class in a way he could clearly understand. She was very willing to work around our schedule and stayed as long as was necessary for my son to reach a good understanding of the topic. Because of her help, his Chemistry grade went up and I believe he has a good understanding of Chemistry now. I would highly recommend Carrie as a tutor.
