I remember when I was in school years ago, wishing I could understand certain subjects better. Their always seems to be that one person in class who always understands the subject with no problem. To be honest, when it comes to math, I can say I am that student in class who always understands what the teacher is teaching. I always say it is because I am good with numbers but really it all started back in middle school. I always excelled in my math and science courses throughout middle school and high school. Going into college I decided to major in chemistry because chemistry is the one subject that combines math and science. I remember being involved in a lot of different study groups while taking classes like chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, statistics, algebra, calculus I, II and calculus III. While in these study groups, I and the other students would always help each other with different assignments. I started to realize that when it came to the questions that had math involved, I would always be the one explaining to the other students how to do the math related problems. It was a very good feeling to help someone with their assignments and actually see them improve in the subject. My love for math started to show in my everyday life. Till this day I find myself calculating my change in my head when am making a purchase. While in these study groups, I started to thinks about a career in teaching. I miss the days when I used to help others with their assignments. While helping others, I learned a lot myself. I want to help students who are eager to learn. I hope you give me the opportunity to help you help yourself with the subjects that you are having some difficulty with.
