Hi, my name is Rob and I'm a recent Magna Cum Laude graduate from George Mason University with a BS in Mathematics and a BA in English. I currently work as a financial analyst, where I keep my math skills sharp.

I have years of experience tutoring students from all high school grade levels and have always made positive and lasting impacts on my students' grades.

My tutoring strategy is to help the student understand the WHY in math instead of just the WHAT, so that they understand the reasoning behind the procedures, and they'll be able to carry the knowledge on with them to harder math classes.

While I have predominantly tutored in math, I'm also qualified to tutor all aspects of English.

Algebra 1

All high school and college math classes build off of what students learn in algebra 1. As such, it's essential that students are able to really understand this subject and not just try to make it through barely passing. I will work with you or your children to cultivate a rich understanding of algebra 1, as I know how important this subject is, and how difficult this can be.

Algebra 2

Very often students struggle with algebra 2 because they were not taught Algebra 1 properly. I will locate the areas where you or your child struggle, and fill the gaps of your learning, so that algebra 2 will become much more intuitive and simple.

Geometry

Geometry is usually unlike any math that a student took before it. It involves learning a completely new style of math and proofs. As such, I don't assume my students will naturally understand anything. I will work through every aspect of the course with them, and be very patient and understanding of their struggles.

SAT Math

I received an 800 on my math SAT, and have tutored many students for the very same test. I am well versed on the SAT content, effective problem-solving strategies, and test-taking strategies, and I will be able to raise your math SAT if you work with me.

You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
