In my opinion Ms Marietta is a great tutor. Most of the time my experience with her was good and other times I couldn't connect or it was miscommunication. I believe she worked fairly well with my daughter and my daughter said that she liked working with her. Ms Marietta have been working with my daughter on her Biology bridge project. To make a long story short, I received an email from her stating that all future classes have been terminated.

I believe she was really unfair to begin working with my daughter on her Bridge Project and not assist seeing the project to the finish and that she had stated in previous email that she would love to continue working with my daughter to complete what they had started. From the first day of tutoring I made her aware that this project was very critical and it was mandatory for my daughter because it is assisting her to be able to graduate. I believed Ms Marietta was a perfect fit for my daughter. My daughter really needed her help. I was not pleased to the fact that she gave no notice in a timely manner that she was entertaining terminating all future sessions.

Now I am back on Wyzant searching for another Biology tutor. I can't justify why Ms Marietta chose to do this and I am aware that she has to right to terminate sessions but I can say that I would not feel comfortable referring her to any of my associates or anyone else who would be in need of a Biology tutor.

Let me begin this comment by quoting from my cancellation policy which I sent out to all my students: "Since each student is assigned a time-slot that could have been assigned to another, and precious time is spent in preparing for each student's class, 24 hr notice of any class cancellation will be appreciated." I enjoyed working with this student and enjoyed the time spent in preparing for the classes. However, before accepting the responsibility as tutor, even though I was informed of the student's learning disability, I was not made aware of a serious condition that led to repeated cancellations of classes with, on many occasions, less than 24-hr notice. It is very difficult for learning to take place with such repeated cancellations, especially when there is a time limit to achieve certain results. My apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Our first meeting was to introduce the student and Marietta. I believe there was a genuine connection and laid the foundation for teaching and being taught. A few math concepts were discussed however true tutoring will begin with our first lesson after Spring break. A good beginning.
