My name is Kwame and I was born in Ghana and raised in the Bronx, New York. I graduated from the University of Virginia in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and specialization in Biochemistry. Following graduation in 2009, I received the Post Baccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) at the National Institute of Health (NIH); National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in which I conducted Staphylococcus research in the Laboratory of Human Bacterial Pathogenesis (LHBP). In May 2012, I completed the Graduate Certificate program in Biomedical Sciences through George Mason and Georgetown Universities.
I have tremendous amount of patience to deal with students. I love physical fitness in which I play/ed basketball, soccer, tennis, and ran track. I like to draw and train in martial arts on my spare time focusing on Hapkido and Taekwondo. I also played the alto saxophone, trumpet and a little bit of the piano. I am grateful for the gifts and talents that I have been blessed with and also for the great mentoring that I have received from countless people which is why it is imperative that I do my part to uplift others. I have tutored a large number of friends and students dating back from middle school up to now.
I strongly believe there should be a balance of discipline and enjoyment in order to bring out a persons' maximum potential in scholarship attainment. There is no such thing as a dumb student, only an untapped source. Every child/ student is different and it is an educators job to help find what works best in order for them to excel.
