I have recently moved to Gaithersburg, MD and I am currently employed as a scientist. I have a great communication and interaction with kids of all ages. I have the ability to teach in a fun and exciting way, so that the students always enjoy coming to my courses. I have also given private tutoring in math, science and programming to middle school and high school student during my undergraduate years.

I have had the chance to be a teaching assistant in Radiation Detection and Measurement Laboratory courses at Hacettepe and Penn State University Nuclear Engineering Departments every spring semester from 2006 to 2010. I have helped in laboratory preparation, experiment manual revisions, grading and in-laboratory advising. I also had experience as a teaching assistant in other courses in Nuclear Engineering, namely: Introduction to Nuclear Engineering, Electronic Laboratory, Nuclear Engineering Project-1, Modern Physics and Experiments in Reactor Physics. My duties again involved writing and grading homework and project assignments and conducting review sessions.

If I were to break down my teaching philosophy, it would be to simplify and care. Simplify because I believe that great teachers are the ones who manage to simplify even the most complicated subjects. This is very hard to achieve and requires a significant amount of experience and knowledge. Graduate students, including myself, usually have the wrong impression that the technical details are the most important part, which results in missing the big picture and the simple question that has been analyzed. Whenever I teach, I try to take this into consideration as much as I can. Care is the other key element. One thing that I have learned from my teaching experience is that if you really care about the students then they will notice. As a response they will be much more appreciative and attentive, and will be more interested in the material. At semester's end, I would always receive a few emails thanking me for my efforts. Those candid thank you and the fact that I actually made a difference have always given me great satisfaction.

ASP.NET

I have an Aptech Certified Application Developer certificate (July 2005) covering subject areas ASP.NET and Web Forms. I would be happy to send a copy of my certificate. After graduation from Aptech, I worked as a Junior Software Engineer at Yuce IT, developing okulNET for 6 months.

C#

I have an Aptech Certified Application Developer certificate (July 2005) covering subject areas Programming in C# and Advanced .NET programming. I would be happy to send a copy of my certificate.

C++

I have learned C++ again at Aptech in 2005. However mostly used C++ in my graduate studies in the development of nuclear computation codes and while taking a parallel programming course. I find myself very confident using C++.

Computer Programming

I have two Aptech certified IT certificates and taken various computer science courses during my undergraduate and graduate studies. Specific courses included: Parallel Programming, Software Design and Fortran

I have developed large applications such as radlab, Penn State Online Reactor Experiments software, Activity Predictor and Nuclear computational applications using C++, MURE and Geant4.

Differential Equations

I have taken my first Differential Equations course during my undergraduate studies. As a nuclear engineer, I have used and thought differential equations during my graduate studies for nuclear analysis.

Dreamweaver

I have been using Dreamweaver since 2005. I have developed web site interfaces and edited existing designs.

Drums

I have been playing drums since high school (more than 10 years) with punk-rock and alternative bands. Examples

Fortran

I have learned Fortran during my undergraduate studies and used in many occasions, specifically many Nuclear Computation codes are written in Fortran. Examples: MCNP, COBRA

Linear Algebra

I have taken linear algebra and advanced calculus courses during my undergraduate and graduate studies at Penn State University. I feel confident in subjects of Linear Algebra.

Linux

I am an advanced user of Ubuntu (10 or later). The majority of the Nuclear Computation codes work better on Linux environment. I got used to administrate and use Ubuntu during my studies. I continuously use Ubuntu for home and work purposes.

Mathematica

I am an experienced user of Mathematica, who could write multi dimensional computation codes and scripts using Mathematica engine.

MATLAB

I am an advanced user of Matlab. I have teaching experience for Matlab for Penn State students for the Reactor Experiments course, where the students had to learn and use Matlab to develop Monte Carlo applications.

Mechanical Engineering

I have graduated from Penn State Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering Department. Many of the courses are given jointly. I feel confident to tutor most of the Mechanical Engineering courses.

Microsoft Access

I have used Access coupled with .NET applications for web portals and custom applications for Nuclear Measurements used at Penn State Radiation Science and Engineering Center. I know how to develop database applications using Access.

Microsoft Windows

I have been using Windows starting from Windows 95. I have used Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista and 7. I feel confident in most of the administration for these operating systems.

Visual Basic

I have an Aptech Certified Application Developer certificate (July 2005) covering subject areas Programming in VB.NET and Advanced .NET programming. I would be happy to send a copy of my certificate.
