Chinese

I have more than 30 years of teaching/tutoring experience. I am a bilingual U.S. citizen fluent in English and native Chinese. I have been teaching foreign students Chinese both in China and U.S.A.

COBOL

I learned ALGOL60 computer programming language in 1979 during my undergraduate studies, and was able to do adjustment computations for solving large scale over-determined observation equation systems fairly comfortably using the language. ALGOL60 gave rise to many other programming languages, including BCPL, B,Pascal, Simula and C. It was the first language implementing nested function definitions with lexical scope. I learned, and used BASIC, COBOL, Fortran, Pascal, and Python later on. I also learned "The Principles of Programming Languages" during my graduate studies. I learned COBOL in 1995, and used it once in a while.

Computer Programming

I also learned "The Principles of Programming Languages", "data structures", "mumerical methodes", "Database Systems", "computer graphics", "Netwowks", "Operating Systems",and "Theory of Computing" during my graduate studies. I am especially good at theory and practice of Algorithms ("The Dynamic Weighted Adjustment Computation of Repeating Leveling Networks with Rank Deficiency & Its Program" was published, and the program was widely used).

Differential Equations

I have been dealing with differential equations since 1979. I learned Ordinary and partial differential equations during my undergraduate and graduate studies. I used them from time to time whenever needed for my jobs. I have a hobby for math, and am fairly comfortable with tutoring differential equations.

Fortran

I learned ALGOL60 computer programming language in 1979 during my undergraduate studies, and was able to do adjustment computations for solving large scale over-determined observation equation systems fairly comfortably using the language. I learned, and used BASIC, COBOL, Fortran, Pascal, and Python later on. I also learned "The Principles of Programming Languages" during my graduate studies. I learned Fortran77 in 1984, Fortran90 in 1995, and used them for my scientific research computations quite often.

Linear Algebra

I studied linear algebra during my undergraduate and graduate studies. I rely heavily on the knowledge of linear algebra for my scientific researches and engineering jobs, which are to establish and resolve large-scale linear equation systems with both full ranks and rank deficiencies. I am skillful with the matrix operations associated with linear algebra researches and applications.

Oracle

I learned ALGOL 60 computer programming language in 1979, and was able to do adjustment computations for solving large
scale over-determined observation equation systems fairly comfortably using the language, which shares similarities with database languages such as Oracle PL/SQL, SAS, etc in terms of syntax and structure. I pioneered a gravity and levelling database management system for earthquake research in 1986, which was published in a popular professional journal. I was a USGS independent contractor (DLG specialist) where I established a spatial database using Sun Unix main frame, and learned Unix shell programming. I was offered a DBA job by a medical supplier company in Philadelphia in 1998. I obtained a trained certification of Oracle DBA in 2000.

Statistics Tutoring Mr. T. is very helpful in explaining well beyond the immediate subject. He is good at showing you the big picture of how different components work together and how they impact the real world. He is also patient when questions are asked and has no problem with responses when an area of statistics is not well understood. ...
