I help students in reading expand their reading repertoire and explore reading by considering a variety of approaches to reading and reading comprehension. They experiment with different genres and discuss their opinions and comprehensions on various reading material. Students are encouraged to experiment with and discuss different reading activities involving sentences: combining, expanding, and manipulating them to create stories of their own. I give students several opportunities and encourage them to read and write for a variety of purposes, real audiences, then encourage them to read, read, read. Students gain new perspectives on reading: fun, information, research and other things. They are also encouraged to: explore, state reasons, purposes, goals, work on comprehension and ways to improve as well as strengthen reading capabilities.

My approach to teaching grammar requires students to identify their communication goals and purposes. Students are encouraged to facilitate understanding of grammar by using accurate and appropriate examples and application. Students read narratives, hold conversations, construct sentences, make corrections; then ask questions about points they don't understand or not clear. The student’s errors are identified and corrected. They are then encouraged to apply their newly acquired skills for practice, improvement and to build confidence in their ability to correctly use grammar.
