I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, but have taken every math course up to Calculus II as well as Statistics for my own self-interest.
I have a full semester of experience as a tutor in the math lab at Frederick Community College, where I worked part-time as a drop-in tutor. Drop-in tutoring not only developed my basic tutoring skills, but also taught me how to quickly adapt to different learning styles and alter my teaching style based on how each individual student learns.
My teaching methods focus on core math concepts rather than memorization of rules, so that math makes sense to my students. For short term, this means better grades in class. For long term, this means actually being able to apply the knowledge you obtain to real life situations rather than only pushing through a course for a grade. My methods of teaching are straight forward and I explain everything very thoroughly. I believe in understanding concepts, not memorizing rules, so that math is easier.
