Hello Parents and Students!

My name is Caitlin. I recently moved back to Maryland after teaching for three years in Ohio, where I taught Algebra II, Trigonometry, and AP Calculus. I have also taught an SAT/ACT Preparatory class last year. I am licensed to teach math (7-12), but I am not limited to those grades alone.

I love tutoring, and strangely enough, I love math! Sometimes math just doesn't click for some students, and I think that's simply because it needs to be explained in a different way. That's what I am here to do--I am here to help students discover their ability to learn and understand the seemingly nerdy world of math! I have tutored students from grades 2-12 as well as college students. I tutored through my University and have also tutored at Sylvan Learning Center. Every student learns differently, so why should teachers all teach the same? I am here to learn how you learn, then teach you the way you will learn best.

Math doesn't have to be a burden--let me help!

My son was in danger of failing his Algebra 2 class and possibly not graduating from high school. I selected Caitlin based on her online resume. She definitely exceeded my expectations as a tutor and mentor for my son. As a result of her excellent tutoring skills and constant encouragement, my son is passing his Algebra 2 class with flying colors. He will also graduate as scheduled. Caitlin is knowledgeable, dependable, responsible, and always on time. She is an excellent teacher and I would highly recommend her to anyone in the market for a tutor.

Caitlin was on time and courteous. Great feedback on the first session as it got my son up to date on the material he was having difficulty understanding. It ended with a significant level of confidence on both sides as it appeared the material became easy to understand and the applications were clear. This is great news as having little time to raise his grade so with Caitlin's continued assistance we feel confident that this issue will be a distant memory. Now my son understands the subject with clarity and is excited to go to the next class. HUGE sigh of relief. We highly recommend Caitlin! More reviews in the future.

Caitlin was absolutely the best resource for helping our son with his calculus last semester. Was extremely easy to work with and provided unparalleled support. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a tutor.

Thanks!

Caitlin is so knowledgeable with math. She tutored me in college level Elementary Statistics with Probability and I learned so much!! Math is not my subject, but she helped me gain the skills to make me feel confident and do well in my class. She is very patient and professional.

Caitlin is very patient and helped my daughter find where her difficulties were. My daughter felt she helped her a lot with Calculus. Thanks!!

Impressed with Wyzant. Caitlin our tutor was easy to communicate with through email. When we met with Caitlin for the tutoring session she was always on time, well prepared, professional and extremely helpful. Caitlin had a great personality, was friendly and patient. My son needed preparation for the upcoming ACT test. He felt very comfortable working with her and also felt it was very helpful in his ACT prep. We would definitely use this tutor again. Thank you. Additional note: We met again with Caitlin a week after our first session to have a review on the ACT writing area of the test. My son got alot out of it. She was able to critique this portion and give him valuable pointers as to doing well on the writing part and how to best prepare for this section. This was a positive experience and very valuable.

Caitlin is a patient tutor and really knows her stuff. She makes Math simple and easy to understand, and gives the student enough time to consider and analyze each problem. She answers every question, no matter how simple, with enthusiasm and obvious experience. If you want to improve your math score, this is the tutor to go to!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math is a culmination of the math students are required to take during their high school years. As a certified high school math teacher, this is the area I was specifically trained to teach, and I really enjoy teaching this subject matter!

As a licensed high school math teacher, Algebra I is one of my favorite subjects to teach. When explained and taught correctly, this is one of the most applicable maths to everyday life.

As a certified high school math teacher, I am fully qualified to teach Algebra II. I taught Algebra II for 3 years, and it is one of my favorite subjects to teach. From graphing linear equations to higher order polynomials, Algebra II brings to light a variety of functions and how they work.

I taught AP Calculus AB for the past two years. I have attended 4 seminars on teaching AP Calculus AB/BC and have gained tremendous knowledge and skills from these seminars. I am currently working on my masters in mathematics, which requires extensive work with Calculus. Since I am constantly having to use Calculus, the concepts remain fresh in my memory, making it easier to teach and tutor in this subject.

I took Differential Equations as an undergraduate student while I was at Cedarville University, in which I received an A. After taking this course, I became a teacher's assistant for this course, where I tutored students and graded student work. One of the courses I took in graduate school was called Differential Geometry, which gave an in depth look at Differential Equations and their applications in the realm of Geometry. In this course, I also received an A. I have a deep understanding of Differential Equations and its applications, which is why I am well-qualified to tutor this subject.

Geometry begins to show students how algebra is applied to real-life situations. With a solid background in Algebra and Geometry, students will be ready for higher level maths such as Trigonometry and Calculus.

I took Linear Algebra as an undergraduate student while I was at Cedarville University, in which I received an A. After taking this course, I tutored Linear Algebra students for two semesters. One of the courses I took in graduate school was called Linear Algebra and Functions of Variables, which gave an in depth look at Linear Algebra and its applications. In this course, I also received an A. I have a deep understanding of Linear Algebra and its applications, which is why I am well-qualified to tutor this subject.

I taught Precalculus for the past two years and have enjoyed it tremendously. Precalculus takes Algebra II to the next level, with a focus on various functions.

Now what is more applicable to life than probability? Whether it's flipping a coin or playing fantasy football, probability is at the heart of any chance we take. This is one of my favorite subjects to teach because it is very easy to come up with hands on activities or visualizations that can make probability make perfect sense!

SAT Math is a culmination of the math students are required to take during their high school years. As a certified high school math teacher, this is the area I was specifically trained to teach, and I really enjoy teaching this subject matter!

I have taught Trigonometry for the past 2 years, and it is by far my favorite subject to teach. The way Trigonometry combines the two worlds of Geometry and Algebra is extraordinary. Trigonometry "completes the mathematical picture" of students' high school math career, and it prepares them for higher level maths they will take in college.

-1/4y-5>-8 (answer)

if the the divisor have exponent (answer)

To answer this question you must use long division. You ask yourself, "what multiplies with x^2 to get x^5?" The answer is x^3. So that is the first part of your answer. Now multiply x^3 by (x^2-2). This gives you x^5-2x^2. You subtract this from x^5-5x^4+7x^3+x^2-8x+7,...
