I've been tutoring with WyzAnt for almost two years now and I really enjoy this work! I have helped lots of students in Howard County schools to be successful in Physics (SAT/AP/GT/Regular) and Math (SAT/Calc/Precalc/Algebra2/Trig). I have had many students tell me how much they enjoy the way that I tutor: calmly summarizing and simplifying complicated topics with some humor thrown in for good measure! I use my professional experience to provide students with some real-life stories and applications for the things that they are learning and I frequently answer questions that students have about careers in math, engineering and computer science.

I am a strong advocate of visual learning, so I like to use diagrams, pictures and other visual techniques with my students. I also try to integrate other learning and study techniques so that students can not only learn about the topic, but learn "how to learn" about the topic.

Because of my engineering experience and education, I am qualified to tutor you in many areas, including: math, physics, physical science, computers, programming, engineering design, business, and business software applications.

I have been an engineer, businessman and mentor for over 25 years in the Ellicott City area. I have Master's degrees from Johns Hopkins (MSEE) and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (MA in Teaching, Secondary Physics). With the latter degree, I am educationally prepared to be certified by the State of Maryland for teaching physics at the high school level.
