Hi! I'm a graduate of UC Davis with major in Psychology and double minors in Education and English.
I've always loved learning languages and getting others excited about them as well. I come from a large family of linguists where many speak and/or understand at least 3 languages. I've studied Spanish for over 8 years. I've studied abroad in Argentina to completely immerse myself in the Spanish language and Argentine culture. Additionally, I've studied Korean for more than 2 years. I recently worked in South Korea as an English teacher for a year while continuing my language studies abroad. Thus, through my international experiences, I'm able to communicate and teach in various cultural environments.
I have over 8 years of experience as an educator; 6 of which involved working with native Spanish speakers who were learning English. I've guided and empowered many of our K-12 youth as well as prospective, current and transfer university students to take full advantage of the resources available to them to succeed via their school and/or their community.
My approach to teaching/tutoring is quite varied yet flexible which allows me to change my teaching methods to best suit students' individual needs. I have a constant dialogue with my students, their parents and occasionally their teachers to ensure they are receiving all the necessary services available as we all work together as a team.
It's easy to see my commitment to education over the years through my experience shown in my resume; which can be furnished upon request.
I look forward to speaking with you soon!
