She has been an Adjunct Professor at Montgomery College, Rockville campus, since 2003. I was a marketing manager for over ten years at a non-profit organization. I also own a small retail business with my son. In addition, I tutor students in their business classes at Montgomery College, specifically on their writing assignments which deal with case studies and ethics.

I have been a writer for more than twenty years, and received my MFA from Goucher College ten years ago. I have also done simple felting, leather bracelets, beading, and wire wrapping. I feel most comfortable with beginners and teens and adults with special needs.
Proofreading is what I do on a daily basis. I help students learn how to proofread their essays by using various techniques. I have also proofread and edited several books and manuscripts. I am familiar with proofreading symbols and grammar usage. I also edit/proof for content, check facts, and work with writers to develop and improve the content of their manuscripts.

I encourage students to read, use the dictionary, and try computer programs specializing in vocabulary development. I help students use words in context and identify inferences through reading. According to the age and level of the student, I provide appropriate exercises and resources to improve his or her vocabulary.

As a teacher in the Writing and Reading Department at Montgomery College, I have helped hundreds of students and professionals improve their writing skills in the areas of: outlining, development, content, and grammar. I have taught composition classes to both native and non-native students, developmental or remedial English classes, and business writing. I have also taught proper citation format (MLA and APA). In addition, I love teaching creative writing as well with an emphasis on memoir and nonfiction. I teach a self-publishing class at the Writer's Center in Bethesda.
