In 2003, I received my Bachelors Degree from Penn State University in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. In addition, I graduated in 2010 with a Masters Degree from George Mason University in Instructional Technology.
Throughout my teaching career, I have been a personal tutor where I provide individual and small group tutoring, assist students improve academic achievement and establish study skills, review classroom material and provide homework support. I have developed skills in time management, classroom management and organization, student engagement, and effective teaching strategies that are applicable to any grade level. I have had the opportunity to teach a diverse group of learners; including ESL learners, students with learning disabilities, students performing on grade level, and students that were gifted and talented. This experience has encouraged me to become more proficient in designing lessons to meet the intellectual, academic, and social needs of all students.
With 10 years' teaching experience, I have worked diligently as a kindergarten and first grade teacher. In August, I accepted a 1st grade position for Anne Arundel County Schools. This teaching experience has allowed me to provide my students with a high quality education and I am confident that my abilities will help me make a difference.
