I have taught a range of students from those in a Title 1 school, to those of very high socio-economic level in a private school setting. Through this 9 year process, I have also worked under many different language arts programs/curriculums and used many forms of assessment. Supplementing the curriculum with enriching lessons was often necessary to meet the individual or small group needs of the students. I attended many in-services, staff development seminars, and education conferences. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Reading Specialist program at Notre Dame of MD., and am now the Reading Specialist at Robert R. Gray Elementary in Capitol Heights, MD. There, I have also worked on the district level with the Talented and Gifted Office to align their curriculum to the Maryland State Curriculum.
I am currently a professor at a community college, where I teach Foundations of Reading.
