Hi there! My name is Seth. I'm a recent cell biology and genetics grad of the University of Maryland just starting out as a tutor.
Besides my degree and familiarity with the core sciences, I specialize in writing, reasoning, mathematical, and research skills, especially applied to the sciences - If you're looking to develop these skills, whether it's in prep for an exam, for your essay or project, or even because you're doing your own research, then you've come to the right profile. I'll teach in these general areas up to the college level*.
My teaching style is all about making concepts as simple as possible through familiar comparisons and through multiple simple-to-difficult examples. And as an avid writer, creative speaker, and halfway-decent pencil artist, I can make my style accessible to learners of any persuasion.
If you think I fit the bill for your tutoring needs, please make sure to have any relevant class materials (such as a syllabus or curriculum) on hand for the first session - I will not charge for familiarizing myself with course structure. Sessions may also be for specific subjects not related to structured courses, but for these please give me advance notice, at least two days, for the subject of your preference.
*Note that my statistics and calculus are rusty - I won't be teaching these at this time.
