I am a professional composer with five earned degrees in music (four academic and one professional), culminating in my recent Doctoral of Musical Arts degree from the University of Maryland. I am also a published writer who is currently working for a major regional newspaper and has taught writing components in my university classes for years. I have taught music composition, theory, and saxophone lessons to students from age 9 through 40, in both group and individual settings. I will be an adjunct instructor at the University of Maryland in the Fall in music theory, and am open for lessons in music theory, composition, technology, history tutoring, and private saxophone lessons. I am also available to work on writing and reading skills from youth through professional levels, including proofreading and editing help. Students can expect a great deal of patience, understanding, and individual lesson creation when they study with me; I believe fully in the dignity and untapped potential of each and every student. Parents can expect strong feedback and a dedicated instructor for their child. My hardest working students have gone on to complete university degrees in music, and I hope that you may join their successful ranks.
