I am currently a senior entering my last semester at the University of Maryland- College Park. Upon graduation, I will have bachelor's degrees in both Central European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies, and Russian Language and Literature.
I have traveled and studied abroad in Russia, and am fluent in Russian after studying it for almost 11 years. I have used my Russian skills in a number of internships. While interning for the Eurasian department of the United States Trade and Development Agency, my main duty was to perform background checks on individuals and companies with which the USTDA did business. The majority of my work dealt with Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Ukraine, which allowed me to use my Russian language skills. Additionally, while interning at the Institute of World Politics, I conducted extensive research on modern culture, politics, military, and international relations of Eastern European countries. I used numerous sources, including multiple articles from many different media outlets (in both English and Russian). My research was included in the book “Intermarium: The Land Between The Black and Baltic Seas” by Dr. Marek Jan Chodakiewicz.
At the University of Maryland, I am currently a Teacher's Assistant in the Russian department, where I assist with teaching a Russian linguistics class, and an Old Church Slavonic class.
