While a Junior in high school, I received a scholarship to become a foreign exchange student to Colombia, South America. This life-changing opportunity, coupled with my love for Spanish as a child, propelled me into an educational pursuit and career with the language I love. During my undergraduate years at Illinois State University, I was fortunate to be one of the few American students chosen to live in Fell Hall, the dormitory for international students. Not only was I able to march towards a degree in Spanish, but the world of language was literally at my fingertips, as I interacted on a daily basis with students from all over the world. As a professional, I am now tutoring children and adults; providing Spanish interpretation and translation for individuals and business clients; and most of all enjoying my bilingual journey with my husband and our three kids.
