I am a stay-at-home mom with a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Secondary Education from the University of Maryland. I really love tutoring more than any job that I've ever had. Parents have praised my patience and understanding and one student gave me a phone call when she was so excited after receiving a 100% on a math quiz! As I have transportation and childcare limitations, I prefer to do most of my tutoring at my home in College Park.
Previous experience:
I was a teaching aid at UMD for 3 semesters in pre-algebra, algebra I, algebra II and geometry. I did my student teaching in middle school and high school for 1 year. I also passed the Praxis I and Praxis II for math teaching.
I also have federal government work experience for 2 years in data analysis.
Tutoring-wise, I was an after-school tutor at a middle school for 1 semester. I've done more than 250 hours of self-employed tutoring in the past 18 months. I've helped students taking 6th grade math, algebra 1, algebra 2, probability and statistics, pre-calculus, calculus 2, calculus 3, linear algebra, discrete math. I have also prepared students to take the math portions of MSA, GED, Praxis I, ASVAB, and AFOQT.
