I received my undergraduate degrees in Urban Studies and Political Science from the University of Maryland, and my Masters Degree from the Johns Hopkins University. I have over ten years experience teaching K-8th grade students in a variety of settings including after school academic clubs, summer camp enrichment sessions, and private tutoring. These experiences have been in the areas of reading, including phonics and comprehension; mathematics; and science. Several of my clients are ADD/HD and for these individuals I attempt to improve their executive (study and organizational) skills. Tutoring needs to be individualized to meet the student's learning style and improving their academic success.
I am certified to tutor subjects for young adults that include Algebra, Accounting, Vocabulary, and Writing. My experience with young adults and older students includes tutoring for the GRE exam, Praxis, and various high school and college level courses. I passed the CPA exam in 1982.
